Maryland Student Researchers Database

magnifying glass on paperThe Maryland Student Researchers (MSR) program is a database of on-campus research opportunities for undergraduates. It is designed to help undergraduates find research opportunities and to help faculty members find research assistants. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of research opportunities available at the University of Maryland. Almost all professors engage in research, and individual departments' websites will provide a more comprehensive list.

Opportunities are updated prior to the start of fall and spring semesters. We recommend that you review the advice provided on our Begin Research page as you begin searching for MSR opportunities, and before you contact faculty to apply for a posted opportunity. To apply for a research project, reach out to the researcher using the contact email listed on the project you wish to join. Introduce yourself (briefly), explain why you want to join that particular project, and attach copies of a resume and unofficial transcript to the e-mail.

Search for Research Opportunities

Use the MSR database below to identify research projects of interest to you. You can filter and sort the opportunities and search for specific words or phrases using the navigation controls at the top of the database. Click on a research opportunity to view the complete research project posting and any required skills.
